HID bulbs suggestion?
Hey Everyone,
My wife just picked up a 2010 RX 350 over the weekend and we noticed that the headlights are very dim at night. Does anyone recommend some HID bulbs that are bright, long lasting and won't break the wallet? Thanks!

If the lights follow you around turns, then you have HID.

I have not found any of the higher output H11 bulbs to last very long and they cost a lot of money.
If it has H11 bulbs for low beams, the solution I have done on 2 cars is the H11 to H9 bulb swap using the Bulbzilla adaptor wiring harness which is available on Amazon. You only have to cut a metal tab off the bulb base to make it fit into the socket, this takes 2 minutes with wire cutters/ linemans pliers. https://www.amazon.com/Bulbzilla-Tra.../dp/B001TJWF5O
The bulbs are over twice as bright and are the same light color as the stock H11. New Philips bulbs are only $9 each or so on Amazon, so I do not mind replacing them every 7 months to a year when one burns out. Here are images of the bulb base cut https://www.google.com/search?q=h11+to+h9+conversion&espv=2&biw=1280&bih=923&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjOwqDRvMHPAhUD4oMKHbcbAIkQ_AUIBygC&dpr=1#imgrc=c0KBtwX0uGBOYM%3A

Now there is a guy who lives down the street from me, and what I have gathered from him is that he "designs and makes his own HID's/LED's". I have seen these on his car and they work quite great for the price. If you want I can get more info on these bulbs of his. He drives a 1996-7 Lexus LS and also has a 2003 Lexus GS, so he is somewhat familiar with the Lexus brand.

i suggest with sticking with halogen. if you do a aftermarket HID kit you cant just plug and play. you need to swap the projector clear lens as well as HID and halogen projector clear lenses are different. If you put a hid kit in a halogen shroud/clear lense your output will be absolute crap. If you know someone who can do all that for relatively good price then go for it. you cant beat a phillips OEM bulb
