And don't forget VDIM is standard on the 450h. It reacts far quicker than I could.

Back to the comfort on the RX vs the LS, I can't contribute since I've gone with sport suspension over the past 13 years. But some say the RX is like a leather sofa. Maybe the tire pressure was set too high like charley95 said or not the best tires.

By now, anybody buying a car from a dealer should realize that you do not take a saleman's word for anything of real importance. The comment, "Lexus salesman says it is NOT a good snow vehicle." is a prime example. For one thing, "snow vehicle" does not mean the same to all people. I know folks who absolutely freak out when there is one inch of snow on the ground. I also know folks who don't think it's a real snow until there is close to a foot on the ground. Regardless, most people who actually own an AWD 450H rate it to be quite capable in snow.

No, it is not intended for heavy snow, or off-roading. It doesn't have the ground clearance to handle really deep snow, which means it will become a plow at some point, and get bogged down. That doesn't mean it can't handle up to 8-10 inches of snow (depending on tires), or that it can't go down a dirt or gravel road.

Although I know better to trust car salesmen or expect them to know anything about cars, this guy was much better than average and he said he had owned a RX450, or I'd never have posted anything he said. Like the Chrysler salesman who told me a mid-late-90s Chrysler LH had I also understand expectations and experiences may vary. His experience that he described to me was the 350 would be better in snow. I am not interested in a 450 at all.

I can certainly accept that explanation. I did not get that from the original post The greatest car salesman that ever lived told the entire country, "You are going to love our new line of K-cars!"

I used to live in snow, and owned both a Silverado 4x4 and a Subaru....both did quite well. Hope you find what you want.

Oops, missing a few words there.... Salesman alleged the LH had 4WD and 4WS. His line of BS was so bad, I told his manager. He didn't care...

Our 450h is the most comfortable/quiet vehicle we've owned. It's has been the most comfortable SUV we've driven and also when we were shopping we test drove several other SUVs and liked the RX even though we weren't originally shopping for one.

But we've owned and still own sport package BMWs, mine being an M3. We prefer handling over ride comfortable and disconnected land yachts. The 450h is good for daily traffic and road trips. I've never been in an LS so I can't comment on how it compares.
