Default How to access the mirror light bulbs

I have changed all the interior stock light bulbs to LED's
I'm now working on the exterior.
Does anyone know how to gain access to the lights under the mirrors?
The plastic covers appears flush, I don't want to break them removing them.

If anyone has done this let me know
Any help would be appreciated..
Thanks
T

Ah, the puddle lamps. Here's one of a few threads on how to do it. There's a video out there too. It's probably in one of the threads.

Wow, I never would have guessed to pull the mirror out.
It's kind of scary to pull on the mirror like that.
Wish me luck..
Thanks for the links

When I changed my puddles, pulling the mirrors out was actually fairly easy. The hardest time I had was releasing the plastic shell. On one side, I managed to snap one of the little clips , but fortunately it still went back together tightly.

Pick a pleasant day with time and patience on full is my recommendation.

Droid13:
Thanks for the insight..
I tested my patience on the rear dome light. That was a real PITA.

I just did full interior LED swap last week...yes, that rear dome sucked!
Today I'm tackling puddle lights and OEM LED fogs...

It sounds scarier than it looks, literally. But many of us have changed them out. You'll be fine. Good luck.

Give yourself a couple hours of daylight!
First one takes some time
Second light is a breeze, after confidence is built.

Went just fine, you were correct. The first one was a little slow being cautious. Pretty thick glass after you pop it out.
The mirrors have the BSM and are heated
I was able to push the light housing forward for better access.
Thanks
