I will give you my uninformed opinion. The sheet metal looks bent. therefor you may have trouble getting a new cover to seal properly. The actual antenna unit should be attached with wires. hopefully they just pulled out. you will probably have to get under the headliner in the car to recover the wires.
I did something like this once. The garage door remote was occasionally shorting out. of course it did it as I was pulling in the garage and scraped the print on the roof of an old Honda. Back then we didn't have shark fins.
Same thing happened to my 13 RX before. I do not think that you can re-attach it back firmly. Buy a new one is a better idea. (My antenna is $164 + shipping$25 = total$189. Bought from Lexus of South Atlanta)
And there might be something also damage under the sheet metal? Can't tell from the above.
Like slawless said, the sheet metal is bent, so even the new one will leave gap when attaching back. You need to use hammer (wrapped by cloth) carefully to knock the metal back as possible as you can. And buy
to seal the gap between the new antenna and the sheet metal. BTW, using hair dryer to heat up the bent area before using the hammer might be good.
I had asked some quick dent repairs in my neighborhood, and they said they can do nothing about the damage. Regular body shop asked for about $1200 to repair the roof. So I decide to do it myself.
I pulled out the wire (see photo) and there seems to be damage to that also. Does the antenna include the connector in the photo? And how do I find the part number of the antenna I need?
2014 Antenna has 3 parts,
1. Antenna. Antenna assy. ANTENNA MAST.
=> I guess this is the black part in your first 3 pics.
2. Antenna Adapter. Antenna housing. Antenna mount kit.
=> The wire & adapter you pulled out.
3. Antenna cover.
=> The white cover in your second pic, it looks still good.
So I guess you need to buy 1 and 2.
BTW, from your last pic, the paint is cracking, so some touch up paint is also needed.
It may be hard to access the other end of the wire to replace it without removing the headliner. I would initially try to straighten the bent pins with pliers. You have nothing to lose by attempting that part. However your roof has paint damage in addition to bent metal. That needs to be addressed to prevent future rust.
Looks like a job for a Lexus dealers body shop with experience on this repair. If not done properly your going to have water damage inside your truck if not done correctly. Just my 2 cents.
I've attached a close up photo of the pins. Am I missing a pin here?
Also, I've added another photo of the fin back over the open area. The surrounding surface area appears to be in okay shape. I do notice a bit of a gap though however I don't need this to be perfect. What could I do here just to make sure water does not get in there?
Can't help about the wire/connector since I drive 13" RX, sorry about that.
From the rear door, we can access between the headliner and the metal sheet.
After opening the rear door, lift the black rubber a little bit, you will see the edge of headliner and the 3 plastic pins inside. Just pull the headliner down, then we can do our work.
