Back in 2008 the front end of my 2007 ES350 was demolished in an accident. It took 28 days to repair and over $14,000. The car looked and drove great after the repairs. I had it for another 5 years with no problems at all. Also, when I sold it, I did not take a hit on the price of the car.

Glad to hear you're ok. Sometimes it doesn't show up right away. It sounds like the impact damaged quite a few items on the RX but kept you safe. Good luck with the final estimate. And thanks for keeping us posted.

I hit a deer last September, left front corner caught the butt of the deer. Damage looked a lot less than what you see in the picture and cost $6500.00 to fix. New bumper cover, headlamp, fog lamp, a couple of sensors and other plastic bits. No air bag deployment and sheet metal was fine. My guess would be likely closer to $20K than $10K for the fix. Hood is done, fender as well and possibly door damage too.

Last time a car I owned was totaled (hail storm damage) was a math thing; the insurance got offers from wreckers that, when added to the cost of repair, ended up being more than the price to replace the car. So they wrote me a check for the full value of the car (3 weeks old) and I bought another.

Hmmm Mass bud, after the safety then your pocket. You will be choked with the insurance payment later especially ur fault in this case (glad that you are fine). I have 3 cars in the policy (my sis got into 2 accidents, her fault) and we pay almost $9000/year for the Boston area insurance. F us, bless you

Finally my car had a supplemental appraisal completed yesterday. The car was totaled. To much damage to repair. I will be expecting the offer from insurance soon.

Ouch! it's kind of a good news/bad news situation. May the RX RIP. Any idea what you're going to get next?
