My wife has a new 2015 RX and in setting up the IPhones phones the contacts were downloaded. The problem is that we both have some of the same contacts and now we have many duplicates. Is there a way around this? I wondered if I deleted both phones then added one with contacts, then turned off automatic downloads and added the second phone. Probably come up short a few contacts but better than a mess of dupes. It also appears that the car downloads ALL contacts from your IPhone and not just the groups you may be using.

In my 2013 the only contacts that are transferred are the ones for the currently connected phone. Two phones cannot be connected at the same time. If I have more than one phone number in my phone for a person (work, cell, home, etc.) the persons name will show up three times on the contact list with each phone number. I find that very annoying. I don't know if there were any changes made that would make your 2015 different.

Wa3cuj is correct that it will only show the contacts of the phone that's currently connected. It sounds like you need to clean up the contact list in your phone. If you have duplicates in your phone, the iPhone does a good job of consolidating them for you. The car doesn't do this, it pulls all contacts from the phone. I would go through your contacts on the phone and start getting rid of duplicate entries.

OK, cleaned up the dupes but I guess I still have a question. On my PC I have 349 contacts in the group "ALL Contacts" in ICloud yet only 224 are coming across to the car. What am I missing here? Did a sync before refreshing the car contacts.

Mors - thanks for the reply and the link. I think you are correct as it seems that the address field is causing the problem. This is not a show stopper by any means but it bugs me when I cannot get something to work as expected. At least I can, if I want to, clean up the file and probably get 99% of them across.

This has been going on long enough that you would think Lexus could just replace what it thinks is a bad character with a good character, or just ignore the character so we could get all of our contacts in.
