Overhead console backlit solution?

Overhead console backlit solution?
Is it possible to merge the 2013-2015 overhead console with the 2010-2012 version where you could carry over the home link buttons?
Basically putting the home link buttons on the 2013-2015 overhead panel.
The purpose is so you can have the map light button backlit as shown in the attached images.

The sunglass holder is available as a part and folks have asked about removing the Safety Connect button and wiring and installing the sunglass holder. I don't know that I've seen any post about actually making the swap.

No, I don't play soccer!
The sunglass holder was also on early build 2010s before Lexus introduced Enform/Safety Connect back in August 2009. And I don't recall a thread where someone has swapped out the overhead console. Here's a thread where a member tried to add LED lights to help illuminate the buttons. Didn't work.

I'm glad you brought up this backlit button question. I just traded my 2010 RX450h for a 2015 RX450H. Just recently a reached up to turn on the courtesy light at night and noticed the button was lit up. I couldn't remember ever seeing those buttons lit up before. I know I have fumbled repeatedly to turn on all the interior lights while sitting in complete darkness. I still can't find that button in the dark and fumble around pressing all the buttons above my head until something happens. You have confirmed it though, my new 2015 does have lights in the buttons that formerly were dark. I just wish they left the garage door opener button where they were up there in the panel with the courtesy lights. I have been driving the RX since 2010 and now with my 2015 I keep reaching up and the garage door buttons are gone. Then I block my view of the rearview mirror as I am backing up my driveway with my hand trying to push the button on the mirror. My up stretched arm also blocks my view of the back up camera on the nav screen. I wish the garage door buttons where right next to the gear shifter. That's where my hand is already as I shift the car into reverse. It looks to me like the blank panel they put in the headliner unit on the 2015 simply fills in the space once occupied by the garage door opener buttons. For the later models, they may have added an additional wire to feed power to the lamps in the courtesy lamp buttons, but you could probably steal power from the little down light which is present on all the overhead panels. The internal illumination on the courtesy lamp buttons might just stay lit all the time, but who cares. It would be easier for you to add the illuminated courtesy light buttons than for me to move the garage door buttons back to the headline panel. I think they relocated the transmitter to the mirror when they moved the buttons. I do like that the transmitter in the mirror seems to work better than the transmitter in the headliner. I sure would like to trade the S.O.S. button for a sun-glasses holder! I think they addressed that issue with the 2016 RX.
