Default Replacing 2013 RX350's trunk light with LED

Hi there,

I am a new member here and recently purchased a certified '13 RX 350. Love it! BTW, do anyone have info (LED bulb info and ease of installation) on how to swap the trunk halogens with LED? Thanks!

Ordering these bulbs today and when received will do my wife's 2015 RX. There are two on each side and one on the hatch. Easy to remove cover with a thin putty knife. Use very little force. Once out easier to disconnect the harness than remove the silver metal housing and replace. I did my ES's trunk and what a difference in brightness.

Thanks Fred and Nasty. I ordered the bulbs (31mm size so will make a note to bend the metal) from Amazon and should arrive tomorrow.

I got the plastic cover off but can't grip and pull the bulb out. Can you elaborate on what you mean by tabs?

Oh the actual bulb I thought you meant cover. Hm that's odd you can't pull it out. Use a towel or something with grip and pull. Should slide right out

The plastic housing has two parts, maybe you haven't separated them first? They are held together by tiny plastic tabs. After they are separated, you push on one of the two the metal bulb holders and the bulb comes off.

Hi TQH, Would you please elaborate on what you mean by tiny plastic tabs. I just popped out the white/clear case and see the bulb.

How many ___________ does it take to change a light bulb?

Sorry. I couldn't resist.

I did what greeknasty said and used something with grip to remove the bulb. No twisting. it's been a few years since I did mine. But I remember removing the panel on the passenger side for easier access. Not on the driver side though. That took a little longer. It's possible. Don't give up.

Hi frOregon. I'm glad you did it. Could you please specify what did you mean by footwell? Is it a stepwell bulb from under the mirror or at the bottom of the doors?
Thanks.
