Just got CPO 2013 RX350, brake wearing down?
HI All,
I just bought a 2013 Certified Preowned Rx350, 2 months ago, with 18K miles...
Starting to hear a little squeak on my Driver Side front wheel when I brake lightly....guessing the pad is worn down...
Being Certified Preowned, I would think the brakes would've been checked/replaced before purchase...
I also have an extended warrantee on top of the 3yr standard.
Need advice, as I feel I shouldn't have to pay for new brakes since I just got the car 2 months ago?
Thanks guys!

Thanks Henry,
I can't really tell unless I take the wheel off...so will ask a mechanic friend to help me out...
Also, the squealing only happens when braking while moving FRWD, not in RVRS...interesting...

When you purchased the car the dealer should have given you a CPO check list sheet which showed brake lining and tire measurements. Brakes must have at least 50% left on every lining for it to be certified CPO..
It is likely that they replaced the linings in order to certify it. If so I would bring it back to them and let them look at it.

Did you ever find the CPO checklist that the dealer completed?
Here is a link to a blank checklist
http://www.lexus.com/documents/broch...t-brochure.pdf
As you can see on page 4, brake linings must have minimum 6mm pad remaining and tires 5/32" tread remaining or they need to be replaced. They are pretty strict with this.

Thanks for the followup FLYCT...appreciate it!
...I never found it...nor do I remember ever receiving it when I got the car =(
I asked the dealer couple of days ago if he knew anything about this, he said it doesn't matter (he dodged the question) just bring it in to service...and have them look at it. \
Should I ask for a copy of it?
What do u think?

They should have their yellow copy and should have given you the white copy. I believe they also were supposed to provide a copy of current Carfax or equivalent.

update
So I took the car to service today and they resurfaced my front rotors...nothing wrong with the brakes supposedly...didn't have to pay...glad that's done...
Funny thing is, they still dodge my question about the CPO checklist...dealer says service has it...service says used car dealer has it...why is everyone avoiding the question? Starting to think they're hiding something about my car...
Seriously what's so hard about it?
Someones gotta have it right?

If you call Lexus Customer Service at t1-800-255-3987 and let them know you can't get a copy of the CPO checklist they should be able to help you get it from the Dealer.
