Default Removing the console vent covers

I'm trying to remove the middle console vent cover to install a kuda mount. It says to pry a bit with plastic tools right to the right of the vent between the plastic and the leather/pleather. Getting nervous and don't want to crack the cover or damage anything. Anyone have any experience?

There are specialty tools for this, such as these http://www.harborfreight.com/automot...set-67021.html or these http://www.harborfreight.com/5-piece...set-99739.html
that should be able to pop it loose without scratching anything. Having said that, I have not done this on the piece you describe in the RX and there is always a risk of breakage. I have the cheaper set of these tools and they do work as advertised on interior trim. You may find similar tools locally at an auto parts store.
