That's ridiculous, they have had plenty of time to contact you. If it was me I would keep calling, after seeing that tire I wouldn't let them off too easy. It may be time to file a complaint with the NHTSA. I bet that gets their attention.

I have tires covered on the 4 year lexus pre paid service even at 31k had abnail, no repair done just replaced tire with new at no cost. 3 replaced thus far, no cost - 15 Rx.

I would visit the dealer and speak with the right person.

I am happy that you safely handled this extreme blow-out.

The car insurer would probably be the only one to repair the guard rail damage and replace/reimburse the blown tire quickly if you made a claim.

Michelin will hopefully reimburse you when they get around to calling you back.

Thanks for the information

I was thinking about buying a set of Michelin Latitudes or maybe Primacy tires for the RX.

I have Primacy tires on my car and the ride is wonderful, so now you just made up my mind to go with the Primacy tires for the RX also.

I'm assuming you purchased the wheel and tire insurance (or it was packaged in your pre paid service plan) when you bought your RX. So in your case the the insurance would cover the tire replacement.

I'm assuming the OP doesn't have the wheel and tire coverage since the dealer advised him to contact Michelin direct.

How about sending them a written letter with photos by registered mail or certified mail? That would make them sit up since you would be laying a paper trail.
