Default Tire speed rating requirement

Sorry for posting this question here, but i posted it on the tire thread but didn't get any response.

My 13 rxh came with 101v tires and it is time for a new set now. My question is do our rxh need speed V rating? I checked the door sticker and couldn't find the info
I'm wondering if I could install a set of H tires divSorry if this question was asked before, but the thread is too long for me to search:

Do our rxh need speed V rating? I checked the door sticker and couldn't find the info, the car came with 101v tires, I'm wondering if I could install a set of H tires since I never drive even close to the speed rating limit.

You think you don't need the V rated tires but, you don't know what the future holds.
You could cut off a mafia hit man or maybe you'll be robbing a bank before this next set runs out.

Whatever happens, you don't want to be looking in the rearview with beads of sweat running down your face wishing you had sprung for the V rated tires.

You're fine with H-rated tires.

According to both Tire Rack (when I called) and my dealer, the RX is approved to have H rated tires. Why they have V rated tires on there is beyond me. Going to H rated gives you many more tire choices, and those tires tend to be more comfortable due to the H's slightly softer sidewall.

It all depends on the maximum speed you'll be traveling at.
H is rated for 130MPH and V is 149MPH.
If you're willing not to exceed 130MPH in you RX, then by all means, downgrade to an H-rated tire.

I don't think you could go 130mph even if you wanted to. The RXh is limited to 112mph. LOL

just try and stay with a low rolling resistance tire for best fuel economy

Look, all I'm saying is when I robbed a bank if I hadn't had the V rated tires I would not be posting here today.

Thanks for your blessing on the H-rated tire. Now I know why my V-rated Michelin Latitude Tours cost so much. Who needs 149 MPH tires? I rarely go over 80. Next tires will be low-rolling resistance H-rated.

You just committed a federal offense, and if the mods on this site do not report you on a timely manner, they will all as well have committed a federal offense.

Nope, self incrimination. We just sit back and wait for the feds to show up

I know tire rating has been discussed in other threads. And if someone decides to go with H instead of V, that's their option. I chose to stick with V because I have to believe there has to be a reason why Lexus picked the higher rating. And when I do find myself driving at higher speeds, I feel confident knowing the tires can handle the stress.

That's what I'm talking about.
Blue lights, sirens, ink dye packs exploding inside the vehicle.
The last thing we need to worry about is tire ratings.
