Should I buy 2016 RX 350 or 2015 RX 350?
As the labor weekend approaches, there are lot of incentives going on 2015 RX 350 and I may get an off of $5,000 on the current 2015 RX 350. I plan to keep it for long term but if in case I want to sell the car after 6 or 7 years, will the resale be good on 2015 model as the design has outdated?
Initially I did not like the 2016 RX exterior with the big grill but now am kind of ok and some how I felt the 2nd look was better than the 1st one. I'm assuming there would not be any price discounts on the new model and kind of thinking which one to go.. any suggestions please?
The other alternative which I have is Audi Q5 or GLK 350. Any thoughts on which one to pick?

No, I don't play soccer!
Welcome to CL, g211. Trying to decide between which vehicle to get - same model/different gen versus another brand - is pretty subjective and depends on what you're looking for. We all have our priorities. Have you had a chance to drive them (except the '16 RX of course)? Resale for me has not been a problem going from one gen to another. Plenty of people buy older RXs regardless because they're solid vehicles. Just peruse the other RX forums.

Dealers get 40+ RX unit deliveries vs the 6-7 NX deliveries early.
You should get at least 10%-12%+ off list on a '15.
I don't like the '16 RX so I went with the '15.
I do like the Q5 a lot..

The 2016 does have a great looking interior I find my 2015 to be very quiet. I really love it !! Enjoy your 2016 when you can get it !

I have a current ('13) RX and love it, however I will be trading it for a '16 in the next year or so. You really can't go wrong with either. Our ownership of the RX has been a real pleasure. I love it much more than I thought I would.
We looked at the Q5 before deciding on the RX. Very nice vehicles, but the interior and cargo compartment just felt too small for our needs.

2016 RX. It's on a whole different level to the current gen and I think it looks best in class. Unlike BMW, Porsche and Audi, Lexus don't keep using the same design and recycling it with a few changes, they've done the RX well

I had the same dilemma but went with a 2015 RX with lots of discounts as they are trying to get rid of inventory. I did a 3 year lease to see how the new RX will pan out in 3 years time.
I've had several 1st generation cars and always ran into problems so I would wary of this, also if you go on over to the NX section, you'll see a lot of NX owners are having issues with their 1st generation NX. And essentially the RX is a big version of the NX, it will be sharing a lot of the same new technology and features.

I waited 18 months for the 16 RX reveal to replace our 04 RX. And we bought a 15 RX with no regrets. I'm an early adopter kind of guy, but that front end on the 16 is just too much. I personally don't care about resale value because we pretty much drive our cars into the ground. Personally we prefer the styling of the 15 over the 16, but we want the bells and whistles on the16. At the end of the day , we estimated the OTD prIce difference between the two at about $10k. That was way too much for us to trade between the new features versus the styling.
Obviously, other folks are going to feel differently...

I predict that the 2015 RX will be very much in demand. I think they jumped the shark on the NX and the 2016 RX. Mark my words
My 2012 has about 45K trouble free miles and I love the darn car. Still, after 4 ish years, I get bored. Actually thinking of Volvo 2016 xc60.
Been in the shop for 7 hours in those 4 years. 6+ oil changes and one tire change Cannot beat that
