Default Electrical problem on my 13 RX350 F sport

Just want to see if anyone has had this weird experience before. I was driving in a heavy rain on Saturday and all of the sudden the proximity sensor just went off without anything even close proximity then the left blinker just went off by itself. I cut off the engine then restart couple of time but that didn't help. After 3 hours in the dealer, the mechanic still couldn't figure it out, they said they needed more time to trace the source of the problem.
Any suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks,

The sensor probably went off because of the heavy rain. But the blinker turning on is strange. Can't recall anyone having a similar problem. Unfortunately you might have to give the dealer more time to investigate further. I hope they can find the cause. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks kitlz, the SA just called saying the blinker is not communicating with the computer. It will cost $600 which (include the diagnostic fee) for a new blinker, too bad the car is just out of warranty.

I tried vlad_a, the lady on the phone wasn't so enthusiastic about helping me with this. She said to talk to the service advisor at the dealer about it, which is kind of shocking since they used to be known for excellent customer service.

I had an AC panel replaced on my IS300 when it was 6 years old. Just because it has developed some barely-visible cracks around edges. Took 3 trips to the dealer and a few calls to the corporate, but they goodwilled it for me. Of course, what helped, was a TSB for this issue, even though it did not cover my VIN.

Talk to the SA too then. If you won't ask for it, chances are, you won't get it.

PEK, sorry to hear about the cost. it might be worth contacting Lexus again if you aren't too far out of warranty. One way is to post here.

It's always best to have a good relationship with your service adviser. My local service adviser has escalated issues for me to the field rep and had them fixed under Goodwill. See below from drivers/lexus.com service history
