Multi information display error
Hi,,
I have lexus Rx350 2014
I bought it second hand ,, the problem is the multi info. Screen is complet black and not working at all!
I've tried to reset the car by unblug, re-blug the battery but still it's not working
My car has no warrenty due to some issues.
If you could suggest some solution to this problem and inform me of the cost of installing new screen it will be great
Thank you

OP, welcome to CL and I'm sorry your first post is a problem with your new-to-you RX. First, I hope you understand that Club Lexus isn't associated with Lexus itself -- we're a bunch of enthusiasts here.
IIRC, there are a couple threads in this forum if you do a bit of searching where others have wanted to replace the head unit on-their-own in their RX. I can't remember though if they came back to the forum to let us know what solution, if any, was they ended up taking. I'm not aware of general problems like you describe with any 3rd Gen RX. While it won't be an exact match, you may want to also do some searching in the 1st and 2nd Gen RX Forums -- those vehicles are aging more than the 3rd Gen are, so you may find folks there that have gone through replacing the head units there that may provide some DIY hints that most 3rd Gen owners have not yet gone through in our relatively new vehicles.
I assume you have also checked the fuses (see owners manual for which ones relate to Infotainment). Since you don't have warranty on your vehicle for some reason, in terms of getting the Infotainment system repaired, I'd suggest you will need to likely pay for diagnosis and then an estimate by either or both a Lexus Dealer or Independent shop. Costs are going to be all over the map and not something folks here will be able to solidly quote unless they've had it done themselves outside of warranty. I suspect you know that the Infotainment system is connected to many other parts of the vehicle, so depending on what caused the failure(s) on your 2014, the solution could unfortunately be more than just replacing the head unit itself.
Good luck with your resolution.

I'm wondering why you wouldn't take it into the dealer. Unless it has a ton of early miles, wouldn't it still be under warranty? Shoot. Even if it is out of warranty, I would want them to at least look at it and ask THEM how much they would charge to fix it! Then I would go to the nearest car audio specialist to see what they would charge.
