If you had more miles on them I would have recommended a used tire from eBay. I had to do that twice on an Infiniti G35. Much cheaper than new if your other tires are good and the tread level matched my other tires. Funny thing, it was the right rear tire both times.

This happened to my son the other day, only he has an Equinox with 8,000 miles. Had to replace the tire because the puncture was supposedly to close to the sidewall. $225.00 for one crappy firestone tire. I can't remember the last time I heard someone ever go in with a flat tire and they just patched it. Beginning to think this is just a racket. I took one in a year ago at Sam's club on our Ford Windstar and the same thing "too close to the sidewall" you must replace the tire.

FYI, Tirerack offers a free service to shave off part of the tread to match the other 3 tires wear. They usually have the best prices around as well.
