Headlight Leveler Motors location
I have a 2013 rx350 rebuilt suv. I had a mechanic check out my Headlight leveling error that comes up. Turns out the motors are missing for my headlights. I called the dealer and they said I have to buy the whole headlight assembly. Are those motors part of the headlight assembly? Can they be bought separate? I found some on ebay but need more information where they are located.

They may be integral with the headlight assembly. Many of the ones on eBay are from auto recycler yards, so you could try asking them. Or contact these folks who are a large Lexus recycler in CA.

Thanks I called them and they said the motor is part of the whole assembly as I thought. I will need to try and find the right model motors for my headlights. Not all that easy since I don't have any in the first place to obtain a model number from. Have to trust ebay seller if they say it fits my model year.

Found out I may have aftermarket lights in my car. They are halogen not HID Xenon.
So they don't have the leveler motors in them. Does the 2013 base model come with Xenon headlights or is that an option.

Looking at my 2013 RX glossy brochure, HID with dynamic leveling came as an upgrade with the Comfort Pkg for all models, and LED with dynamic leveling came with the Luxury Pkg on RX450h AWD only.

Sounds like they rebuilt a wrecked front end and got the entry level halogen headlight assemblies (probably from another wreck) rather than the correct HID headlight assemblies so they could save money. That is why your warning light is stuck on.
You could buy the correct HID headlights on eBay or from Rancho Cordoba and sell your halogen headlights the same way.
