Default Sewell Closing

I just went to check on some prices and saw that they will be closing on March 1st. Does anyone know if it is permanent? Maybe it's time to stock up on a few service parts...

No it's not permanent. They will reopen in 2016.

Edit: I stand corrected. I misunderstood another thread I guess.

Thanks for clarifying. Didn't receive the email from them until this morning.

I got the e-mail just now. SewellParts is closing permanently.
The alternative is to fill out a parts request form at http://www.sewell.com/OrderParts
They will open more stores in 2016, so they're "shifting focus".
In other words, no more discounted parts for us.

Probably instructed to do so by Lexus due to them taking business away from other dealers and providing lower prices.

+1. Just like the extended warranty sales. Toyota corporate getting too many complaints from dealers nationwide. So much for capitalism.

You scared me a bit with the thread title. I bought my last Lexus there and got a lot better deal there than what I could get from dealers around here.

I still don't get it. Closing to expand more stores? Sounds not right at all

They were stopped selling us Cannucks parts a while ago as well.

Had parts shipped to a US service close to the border, though. To far away now, but was planning a trip in the spring and was going to order a trailer hitch. Not sure if there are other on-line stores taking over?

We here at MyLparts.com and Lpartsworld.com would love to have your business. We also do not ship to Canada, but will ship to any U.S. Address for free on orders over $150. We also give a CL discount as well. Hope to work with you soon!

Default So what happened to Sewells?

Almost every DIY thread references Sewell or Sewell part numbers, but their site is down. Hard to believe a Lexus dealer went out of business. Did they just quit the on-line portion? Is there a next favorite, with a discount?

Sewell had shut down its online operation, possibly due to corporate pressure.
I have been using http://www.discounttoyotaparts.com/ for years now.
Having a "Toyota" under the "Lexus" badge has its benefits.
