Default Garage Door Opener Button

RE: 2010 RX 350
As many owners complained there is no backlight on homelink garage door opener buttons. It makes it hard to locate it in dark.

Has any one found a work around? Are there any glow-in-the-dark type of stickers available? If so where do you buy them?

Not just the garage door opener - I also need one for interior light switch etc.

FWIW, my '04 Highlander has Braille-like raised dots, *, **, ***, on the home link buttons. Very handy. No looking involved. Maybe a small dot of glue on the one you use, or something tactile like that.

I used some glow-in-the-dark stickers designed for home light switches from eBay (at least Australian light switches, they must have different types of light switches there as I do because I remember them being not well shaped for any common light switches I have in my home). They were ovals about the size of a tylenol capsule.

Anyway, I cut them in half to serve as a small indicator, big enough to see, but small enough not to be too obnoxious. How well do they work? Well, the stickers themselves were fairly thick and stick very well. They are tough and regular use of the buttons has not affected the stickers at all. The problem with the stickers is that they are meant to be seen in the very dark. Going from looking out the front windshield with bright headlights to looking up at the buttons, they are not bright enough to instantly see the glowing stickers without a moment for your eyes to adjust, so by no means is it as effective as if they were properly lit. It can still be a bit distracting if you try to hit your garage door button while still driving down the street. However, with time as I become more intimately familiar with the buttons, their position, and indeed the feel of the thick stickers which help just as much, they are an improvement for this embarrassing situation.

Maybe take a piece of black sandpaper, punch a hole with a standard paper hole punch, glue the piece from the hole forward or behind the button, doesn't have to be on the button. Feeling around up there as you near your home will tell your fingers where to press. Good luck.
