Default Battery problem

Do all the 2011 come with maintenance free batteries. Mine appeared to be conventional, different than my wife's 2010. The caps come off so you can add water, replaced it this weekend with a Duralast gold. Water level was very low and it was not taking a charge.

Did you purchase new? If pre owned it could have been replaced previously for whatever reason by previous owner. I purchased a Camry hybrid new and the battery died after one year and was replaced under warranty. Had I been on the road not near a dealer I would have had to replace it however I could.

When the water gets very low on a conventional battery, and the plates are showing, the battery is pretty much toast. It will not take a charge. You had no choice but to swap out the battery. BTW, Costco will replace their batteries without pro-rated costs (free replacement) if the battery doesn't make it to the end of the warranty period. Downside: You have to do the work.
Hope this helps.

I had batteries in cars (other than Lexus) that went south for no apparent reason. I believe your charging system checks out fine and there is nothing draining the battery by way of a small earth leak. Did read somewhere that a 'slow' leak can ruin a battery apart from draining it.

When you said it will not charge where you trying to charge it with a battery charger? Chargers will not charge if the voltage is zero or below some number like 3 volts. Try charging it with another car until you get some voltage e.g. 3 volts and then plug the charger. The battery might still be resurrected.
