I left my battery running for about a half an hour. The car started okay but is the battery weakened now and going to die soon?

Just take it on a run up the interstate to allow charging to take place. Does not require a long trip, just the next exit up and back if all is working fine. Keep the radio and AC off to allow maximum charging. If you drive it only on short trips it will never get a chance to recharge the battery. Or, you can purchase a battery tender such as those from Schumacher.

Half hour is nothing. I wouldn't even bother making the interstate run in it unless you had all the doors open, heater running, music playing, etc.

Battery can survive a few complete discharges.
If the car started, then it has not been completely discharged. Nothing to worry about.

Best way to extend battery life is the "exercise" it. Not a complete discharge, but make it really work every now & then.
