thanks for your input, i'll be keeping a close eye on my 2010. It was picked up pre-owned certifed with 22k miles as an off lease car.

I'm assuming you have/had a Corrado based on your screen name, i'd agree those are oil burners or leak oil like the Exxon Valdez both vr6 and sc..sc being the worst LOL!
My past Audi's seldom used anymore than a 1/4 cup of oil between services, which i think is acceptable for most cars.
