I did not notice but afdter going back and looking at my LX 5k, all they did was an inspection. Just had the 10k and they actually changed the oil.

I have seen both car and motorcycle motors torn down, some using regualr oil and other on nothing but synthetic. The difference is night and day. The synthetic motors looked spotless and almost new! No doubt it is the way to go!

I replaced transmission oil in my Manual IS300 after 10 years of service. It did not look as bad as I expected. It still had some amber-brown color to it.

I also replaced oil in my RX450h when it had 4,500 miles. I'm old-fashioned as well. Again, to my surprise, oil came out all clear, with dark amber color.

Of course, I did not have any chemical analysis performed. This is just my visual observation.
