I tried to change the air filter myself and look at wix 24483 or fram 10285 air filter. Does anyone suggest which brand and part number is great?
I also want to add the fuel additive like techron because I am new to us and add Arco fuel until my friend tell me it doesn't add any additive in the fuel. Does any suggestion for which additive you use?
Finally, I book an appointment for my 40000 miles service. They quote me $280 for 40000 miles service so I ask only change oil filter and tore rotation for $140. But I see someone only pay for $70 for oil filter in lexus dealership. Is my quote expensive? I live in sacramento,ca.
Hello Michael. Congratulations on your recent purchase of your 2010 RX350. Air filters available at reputable auto parts stores like O'Rilley's, Napa and Auto Zone will be fine. We are not driving on dirt roads here in Sacramento, so no worries. The cabin air filter is a little tricky to get out, but there is a thread here to help you.
If you want Techron in your gas, I recommend Chevron. It's good gas and the clientele seem to be very nice. No need to add it. We use regular in our RX without any problem.
I understand about the 5,000 vs.10,000 mile interval for oil change, but the 10,000 figure is fine for synthetic oil.
We live in Lincoln, CA, and bought our 2011 Certified Pre-Owned RX350, matador red, no nav from Lexus of Roseville and love their facility and staff. We are confused about the 5,000 mile oil change too because the car had 30,000 miles on it when we bought it, and is due for its first oil change at 35,000 miles, but I think it should be 40,000 miles. I will call the dealer.
Our first oil change is free, with the CPO car, but I will compare the Toyota dealer's prices with the Lexus dealer's.
All the best.
Ray
