Default I do!

I change my own oil and filter on the RX350 and SC430. I get Mobil 1 oil at Wal-mart and OEM Toyota filters at the local Toyota dealership. I may not change my own oil/filter in the new CT200h for quite a while since I have nine $50 service credits at the Lexus dealership which will bring the cost of an oil change down to about $30 bucks or so out of pocket.

Did my own oil change and the way I schedule it at 5k oil only then at 10k oil and filter, about
Dec. for oil only then about June- oil/filter since weather is nice. The RX now had 14k miles.
I'm doing all the maintainnance .The last time we took the RX for 5k check when dashboard light say so-total ordeal 3 hour that include free car wash and 2 free bottled water.

As StillLine said.

Every time I pick up an oil filter at the Toyota dealer (only one on Island) they always ask where I purchased the RX from because they have no maintenance records for it.
The Lexus dealer is on Oahu( Honolulu) and it's a 20 minute plan ride so we don't go there.

Try an IS300, I have a video on how to do it on the MYIS forum.

I just bought my tools to DIY oil change when the next time comes around.

Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Socket Wrench for Toyota/Lexus $20
K&N PS-7020 Pro Series Oil Filter $6
Genuine Toyota - Oil Drain Plug Gaskets 90430-12031 $1.25

Can't really tell if there will be any difference in performance between the OEM or K&N oil filters but personally thinking, cant really go wrong with anything that is made by K&N right? lol

Hawaii has more Toyota's/Lexus than any other place I've visited.
Most popular truck for beach driving is by far the Toyota Tacoma. I always liked a full size pick up and my F-150 with the right tires does a great job on sand

Good job on the video Froggy!

If you don't mind I just have a couple of comments:
a) I have rhino ramps which are longer than the one you use. I prefer the rhino because you have more clearance when you drive the car on it.
b) I recommend to put some kind of a stop on the back tires. I have a metal one that I shoved in there to prevent the car moving backwards just in case.
c) I do the oil drain plug and filter first before the oil drain plug. My oil catch can may not be big enough to cover both. If you have a bigger oil pan that is fine.
d) Torques are: 30 ft-lbs for the oil drain plug; 20 ft-lbs for the oil filter housing; 10 ft-lbs for the oil filter drain cap.

I normally don't torque the filter but the Lexus oil filter assembly is different from most cars. I torque it last time just to feel how much it torque it wants.
