Default brake pads upgrade? anyone?

The brakes on my 2012 RX feel a little too soft - I do not think there is problem with the brakes, but after I drive our Q5 ( that has very sensitive and grabby brakes), my RX's brakes feel "soft".

I do love no brake dust on the rims, but braking power seems lacking a little...

Q5 does produce a lot of brake dust, but I prefer the "dust+good braking" to "no dust + so-so braking".

Anyone changed their brake pads to something "better" ?

Thanx

I just replaced front and rear with the Power Stop cross-drilled and slotted rotors and Evolution ceramic pads from Rock Auto. About 1,000 miles so far and couldn't be happier. No noise, no dust and still has great stopping power. I was originally looking for Akebono pads and Centric rotors but decided to give the Power Stop a try.

You can try Hawk pad.. works great.. just a bit dusty if you don't mind that.

I put in the Akebono Ceramics, same as I use in our Audi and Mercedes. They feel a little softer than either of those two vehicles. I have not bled the fluid however and that may tighten things up a bit.

Maybe in the spring when the perma-frost goes out of the garage!

Bleeding the brakes will not change the feeling "soft" - I had the same experience with all ceramic pads I tried to use: Akebono Ceramics and Hwks Ceramics on Volvo XC90, EBC Redstuff Ceramics on Land Rover LR2 and on Q5
The ceramic pads felt "OK" first 3-5K miles, but after 15-20K miles they would become very "unresponsive", and EBC Redstuff warped the new Zimmerman rotors on our Q5.

I did not like Hawks because they moved inside the caliper when I installed them on XC90- had to remove them because of"clicking" noise, installed OEM pads and no more noise...

Apparently RX350 has ceramic pads from the factory, that is why there is no dust and "soft" braking feel
