They will surely dump them; some dealers still have '13s, a quick succession to the '15's for the RX, but the raise in price helps them greatly and will further separate them from the NX coming out this fall starting about 10K less!!

I thought by saying "I just want base package, and if need be you can add the comfort package" meant that it would be base price, or maybe adding another $1300, not $5-6000 on top of base. Is it uncommon to find these cars without the premium packages and the parking assist and all that other stuff? Really, my wife just wants the RX for the comfort and the quiet, not all the extras she'll never use. Her present RX is trimmed out and she doesnt use anything, doesnt even crack the moonroof. Would I be asking too much for them to find us a base model? Or should I just try to negotiate this one down?

Dealers are trying to unload their current inventory because the 2015 RX are due out any day now. You have what no one else wanted to pick from on Lexus lots now.

I have never heard of any Lexus for sale with the "base" only. They all have an add on of some sort.

If you want "base" , then go with buit to order.
3months wait but you'll get a 2015 instead.
You can even get cloth seats if you don't want leather.

What options does it have?
There's no such thing as a stripped down RX 350.
Im sure you probably have leather and moonroof there.

So does it come with a premium package? Luxury?

If so, then 38,900 is fair but not that good, considering the 2015 will be out in a few days

Well, I can say that I like using the Backup Camera, Parking Assist, and the Blind Spot Monitor as I'm a pretty tentative driver to begin with. For me, it is a large vehicle to drive and I find that these tools help tremendously. The moonroof? Well we do open it on nice days. Navigation? We still have trouble getting the Nav-Lady to shut up at times

We have had similar problems with the NAV system not realizing we have passed an intermediate point and start directing us back there or when leaving a Nav set destination the system tries to take us back. The quick fix is to use the Voice Command button on the steering wheel and saying "Delete next destination." and then Yes to confirm. We have found it to be one of the most useful and consistently recognized voice commands.

No financing. We are thinking we will get a auto loan through our credit union.

not sure if deal is still going on but on top of haggling lexus will give you 1000 discount if you finance thru them in which case you can turn around and go to credit union and refinance for a lower rate because you can pay off lexus financial any time without fee's
just a suggestion

Great suggestion. That's what we did when we bought our Highlander in '04. Finance thru the dealer, then pay it off with a credit union loan after a month or two.
