My wife has a 2010 rx without gps and when she gets a call on her iphone, the volume through the car speakers is unbearable high and cannot be adjusted by the car's radio volume control.
How can this be done?

If the radio volume does not work, try going to phone BT menu and see if it can be adjusted there

My Nav-equipped RX will change volume via steering wheel buttons. Strange that yours does not. Try the side buttons on the phone.

The bluetooth menu does not have any volume settings and adjusting the volume via the iphone buttons defeats the hands free operation. Getting into her pocketbook while driving, finding the phone and pressing volume down buttons are not an option.

Did you try side buttons on the phone just to see if they work? It may preset the volume, so she won't have to deal with conversation that are too loud.
