Need advice: Best way to fix scratch
Hi,
New RX 350 owner here. Just picked up the car yesterday, it's a 2013 RX 350 with Claret Mica color, about 1 year old with 5200 miles on it..
Now we inspected the car pretty thoroughly, and we didn't see any major scratches on the car, just very minor issues to be expected with 1 year old car. To my horror, I discovered a big scratch today. We only drove home the 80 miles from the dealership, and nothing happened on this trip. The car has not been moved since. Since the scratch was not there when we inspected it, I suspect the guy that took it for a final car wash and gas fill up after the inspection did it. But no way to prove this. So let that be a lesson to everybody: Inspect the car again before you accept it.
So what is the best way to fix this? it's right behind the right rear tire on the lower portion of the plastic bumper. I am debating whether I should fill it in with touchup paint, since the area behind the tire is hard to see and will probably be usually somewhat dirty, I am hoping that this will be okay. Or should I take it to a body shop and get it fixed there? How much would such a fix cost? Also open to any other suggestion.
Thanks

I agree. Call and tell them the truth. demand that it be taken care of. if they refuse, that scratch is to big and deep to fix with touchup paint. You'd need to get it professionally painted.
