Default Transmission fluid change

I have a 2010 RX350 and have done all the routine maintenance myself on this as well as my previous Lexus cars. I was discouraged about the sealed transmission and "lifetime" fill as are many and was used to doing a drain and refill of 4 quarts every 30,000 miles or so.
I stopped at my dealer today and talked to the service manager and he said they now have a machine uses the tubes going to the radiator to do a "full 12 quart flush" of the system, they don't recommend it until about 70-80,000 miles and it will cost "about $200" according to this man. He said they heat it and make sure it is full and seemed real matter of fact about it and didn't try to tell my it was unneeded, etc. It is an option even though a bit more money that the $30-40 for the drain and refill I used to do.
An FYI
Regards-Bill

Don't do the transmission flush,it will cause too much dirt to run through the transmission. On my Son's 2004 Camry with high miles we just do the fluid exchange and filter change.

As best I can tell one cannot do a drain and refill on these "world standard" transmissions so the only options I can find are no changes or the 12 quart replacement. If you have information about how one can do a drain and refill on the closed/sealed transmissions I'd love to see it.
Thanks. Bill

I have done tranny oil changes but with cars with a tranny dipstick. The Lexus does not have a tranny dipstick so it makes it difficult. I have not done this on my Lexus but in the far future if I want to do it, I will look it this way. First locate the transmission plug which you need to drain the tranny oil. Before you do that, find the tranny filler plug which should be above the tranny case. If both exist, then you can use the filler plug to fill it. You use a plastic tubing that goes into the filler hole and at the other end youi need a small funnel. I tape the end of the funnel to the plastic tubing to prevent spill. So when you are all set, remove the drain plug and let the fluid drain out. Put the drain plug back and fill it up with tranny fluid thru the filler plug. When it overflows out of the filler plug hole, it is at the right level.

Personally I wouldn't bother.

The premise of the transmission fluid will last the life of the vehicle, is, meaning till it break, most likely after the warranty is over.

Therefore, the tranny fluid that last a lifetime of vehicle is = the timeline of your warranty.

Then dealer looking at you with a fat dollar sign on your head, greeting you with the most fabulous smile.
