Default Replacing front bumper 2010 RX 350

Was quoted$1200 for reaching this part at one dealer. The only thing wrong with the current one s that the hangers brok on the driver's side after I hit a raccoon that ran in front of the car one night. Can anyone suggest a less expensive place to get it replaced. I am in the NY tri-state area. Thanks.

Sewell Lexus Parts online usually has the best prices. Take a look on their site.

Here in N.B. I may have called the insurance adjuster stating the raccoon hit me. LOL.
Lots of deer & moose strikes locally. I hit the moose, my fault. Moose hits me, different story.

$ 1200 will not likely include prep.,paint & install ?

Speaking of insurance, would an animal strike qualify as a legit claim? The deductible is less than than quote from the dealer.

Yes, it's legit. Heck, I had a rock fly up and put a hole in an AC condenser once and that was covered.

I also has a hawk swoop down and plow into my windshield putting a nasty crack in it. That was covered under comprehensive. One in a list of many $100 (deductible) windshields I put on my 2003 Jetta. I think I replaced 4 or 5 windshields over the 230K miles I had it.

I have not looked, but I have heard comments that this part can be found for low prices on eBay. Good luck.

Well for the actual part Sewell Parts would be the way to go, but to be honest, for paint and install you aren't going to be saving much money than that quote. Whenever an autobody shop sees "Lexus" they are going to charge a hefty price, and the paint is expensive for Lexus too obviously.

If the bumper cover is intact except for the mounting tabs any good body shop can re-build them using 3M materials. Check YouTube for the 3M video on how it's done. It's one of those cases where if you can find an 'old school' body shop rather than a parts replacer you may come out ahead. Just my $0.02.

I'd take the $1200.00 quote & buy it, prepped, painted & installed.
That seems really cheap based on local CDN. pricing.

As another noted, however, an easy fix to the mounting tab might be the most cost-effective.

Have you considered getting a painted part online, then installing the front bumper yourself? ReveMoto sells them and it'll only cost $200 to get the bumper painted. The part will depend if you want an OEM replacement or OEM part, but altogether it still won't run you up to $1200 with the part, paint, and shipping.

Reviews are available on Amazon, Yelp or the site if you want to hear what customers have said. Thanks!

Go to the dealer and pay the $1200; I paid a thousand 7 years ago to have mine replaced on my Towncar; don't trust shipping not to damage box; your local body shop will paint, put in flex, and install properly and guarantee!!!!
