Hmmmm? I've checked a few others and it seems to work as I stated? As I mentioned do not let the wiper go too far once visible. The arm 'bends up' and you should have just enough room to 'bend up' the blade and once resistance is felt go a tad more and it will 'pop' off.

He tells me you have to take the spoiler off the car to change the arm, and that they have never done this before. They always change the wiper refill. He looks at me like I'm so **** about my Lexus. He says when the windows are dirty it's not made to clean mud, it's more for rain. I beg to differ, because that's how they got me for the wiper scam in the first place, telling me it was leaving streaks.

Lol, typical dealer crap! Thanks for sharing! I will be using inserts, and hopefully mine work. (Also, they couldn't have designed the wiper to extend just a little further?!?!, come on Lexus!!!)

For those that use an automatic car wash, like the one at my dealer, having the wiper hidden is a god-send!

Hate to sound stupid but.. the 350 is my wife's and if I hurt her car well U can guess what I'm not getting. a video would help me a bunch. thanks.

I did buy the Bosch Icons including the H409 for the rear, just not ready to do it yet.

btw, last year I had to replace the passenger side blade assembly due to a parking valet's screw up after an ice storm. Bought the blade assembly from my dealer and got set back $40.

thanks again

Default Replacing rear wiper blade

I was able to take the rear wiper blade off on our 2010 RX350.

Here are my suggestions:

Bring the wiper arm down to beween 5 and 6 O'Clock position by turning the ignition switch on and off as many have suggested here.
Apply a wide piece of masking tape 3-4 inch long to under side of rear spoiler where the wiper arm comes in contact with under side of spoiler when the arm is lifted.
Grab the wiper arm with your left right 2-3 inches above where it connects to wiper and gently lift it till it touches the spoiler underside.
Grab the upper part of the wiper right about the same area you are holding the wiper arm and
with gradual downward force on wiper blade while holding on firm to wiper arm, the wiper blade will pop off.

Some aftermarket blades look right but might have larger profile that could hit spoiler underside.

Either replace the wiper blade entirely or the blade refill with OEM item. The fit under spoiler is tight and is not worth messing with marginal clearnace aftermarket blades.

The recessed wiper under rear spoiler is a clever design that Toyota came up with and so far only GM Tahoe/Suburban have copied.

Default Rear wiper replacement - way to easy

I did the other week. brought the wiper arm down. Was then able to just roll the wiper off the arm. took a grand total of about 4 seconds. the Bosch replacement was a direct fit. I have now replaced both the two fronts and rear for about $35.

Default changing the rear wiper blade

Is there a setting on the wiper stalk to lower the rear wiper so that I can change the wiper blade? I looked through the manual last night and couldn't find anything. I guess without a "setting," I'll just need to turn on the rear wiper and half way through the motion, just turn off the engine to stop it in place so I can change it. Any thoughts?

I tried the different ways described above, but the wiper hardly lifts off the glass so I couldn't imagine where to go from there. Think I'll try these instructions:
