Japan vs Canada build parts question
Does anyone know if there is a diffrence in part % between the Japan vs Canada built RX350s? I know there is a sticker on the side window showing the % of parts that came from Japan and the % of parts from US/Canada, but I have not seen a Japan built car stiker so I don' know the %.

Technicalities. All RX450h are built in Japan for now, but Canada is being enabled in the future. The majority of North American RX350s are built in Canada -- the major (not only) exception being some with special options such as HUD that used to only be produced in Japan. There have been threads here in recent times suggesting Lexus is enabling more of those options in Canada in recent times.
OP, to your question, the answer is, % of parts for a similar RX350 will vary if built in Canada or Japan. I say that because of previous threads on CL from months back on things like window glass that was confirmed by multiple posters as being sourced from Japan or from North America depending on the closer factory location... I don't know the exact percentage and would theorize it continually varies as Toyota/Lexus work their worldwide logistics magic.

This doesn't necessarily apply specifically to "parts" alone, but I imagine Lexus ensures that vehicles built in Canada comply with NAFTA for export to the US, which means that 62.5% of the vehicle's value is derived from parts and labor sourced in North America.

The RX350s made in Canada have a 60% US/Canada content. I just have not been able to find a car from Japan with the sticker still on the drivers rear window to see the % make up for the cars from Japan. The RX350s from Japan are few and far between in the US these days.

I was at the dealer when my (h) came off the truck from the port. I can't say for sure, but in looking it over real good I don't recall that particular sticker being on it. So maybe the Japanese builds don't have it. But it was nearly four years ago, so may just not remember it.
