I am getting close to the 50K mark, so I have to get my Lexus extended warranty before it is too late.

I can pick up a 100K warranty (basically the CPO warranty) for $1700 or the 125K warranty with an additional year (or maybe 2 years) for $3K. What do you guys think? Price is with no deductible and full platinum. I am leaning toward the 100K one, just want to see what you guys have on your car.

I haven't as yet purchased an extended warranty on my Japan built RX.I doubt I will. I do think if I was to purchase one I would go for the 100k warranty for the price you were quoted.It doesn't seem worth so much extra cost for just 25k more.

I think both prices makes sense in their own way. Remember the powertrain warranty is 6 years / 70k miles. So the 100k warranty includes about 30k of powertrain coverage and 50k of everything else. While the 125k cost difference is for an additional 25k of both.

So this is the optional purchase after the factory warranty expire ? I thought we can only purchase these at the time of buying the vehicle ?

Extended warranties can be purchased up until the basic warranty expires.

I have never purchased an extended warranty on a Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Subaru,or Acura that I've owned over the years. I did purchase an extended warranty on a Saturn VUe,and used it quite a bit though.
