RX350 lock doors/trunk without waiting to close?
Is there a way to have the 2011 RX350 lock all of the doors/trunk automatically when I press the close buton on back of trunk?
Once I press trunk close button on back of trunk, it seems have to wait until it closes before I can lock he entire car and walk away?
If I press the lock button too early, I get the alarm.
Please let me know. Thanks.

No, I don't play soccer!
Nope, all the doors have to be unlocked to open the tailgate. The long button on the tailgate of my 450h was programmed a long time ago to open with a two second push and hold. First the doors unlock, then the tailgate opens under power. Saved me from pressing the button twice, LOL! I remember the tech telling me I couldn't just unlock the tailgate and have it open under power.

I talked to Lexus sales rep yesterday and he told me the 2013 RX does not have this feature either. You have to press the button to close the back tailgate and then wait for it to be closed to hit the button to lock the car.
He said the GX has this feature though....

Atomarchio, I got the official answer from Lexus in writing. See this thread for full details: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...g-key-fob.html
In summary, what we can do with the 2013:
- We can lock the car doors while the power hatch is closing provided its engaged from the lock button on the KEY FOB.
- On the flip side, we CANNOT via the rubber **** on the hatch or the lock indentation in the front door handles.

That's disappointing. I find it very annoying to press the button and wait for the tailgate to close before I can lock up the RX.
Especially when it's raining or during the winter....was hoping they would fixed this in the 13.

1/ press the button
2/ walk away
3/ take out your key fob
4/ locate the "lock" button
5/ press the "lock" button
So many steps...dang it

It is annoying, but in general I just close it manually and then hit the lock button next to the open button, or use the remote to lock the doors whilst the tailgate is still closing under power.

Does the 13 allow you to do this?

C'mon folks .... this is hardly a big problem. Just hit the close button, walk away and after the door closes and latches, reach in your pocket and hit the lock button. No time lost whatsoever. And to think in the not too recent past we had to MANUALLY lift and close the back doors AND use metal keys to lock/unlock doors. I try not to obsess about these tiny, tiny things that aren't worth a hill of beans in the fabric of life..
