The back of the driver's seat had a run in with a french horn case today and the seat back lost the battle.

Does this look repairable? I'm not very hopeful.

Does anyone know where I can get the part number of this seat back so I can call Sewell and get a price on it?

Ouch indeed. I'd call a place that restores car interiors to see if they might be able to fix it first.

Wow, sorry to see that. Like Anita said, they're reparable. Your dealer might recommend one or just Google. It's not that major.

We're ging to check with an local shop to see what they an do first. My wife sent me that pic earlier. I didn't realize that area was so soft. I thought it was hard vinyl or some other type of plastic. After seeing it, I think it's repairable. My wife was sick all day and afraid to tell me about it.

The horn is fine, thanks for asking. The case protected it as it should. The clasp is what did the damage.

I thought her message was a belated April Fools since the horn usually goes in the trunk section. Then she sent me the pic.

Definitely repairable. Just buy a vinyl repair kit (typically about $15) and read the instructions ... or just let a pro fix it for you. You could also buy a new seatback and have it installed.

Agree with UCSB.

If you want to save time on the appointments and costs, try Permatex Vinyl and Repair kit ~12$. I've used it on my leather couch's bottom corner and a small tear on my past RX's rear door armrest (kids...) and the repair was hardly noticeable even to the discerning eye. Was fairly easy to apply with color mixing and stencils to match the grain of the vinyl/leather, and because the spot in the seat back is essentially a non traffic area, the repair will last you the life of the vehicle.
