Default Brake pad and rotors, air filter, pollen filter cost

Hi, I have just taken my car in for a service 42 months and 35,000km and they said I need to have 3 extra things done. Front brake pads are down to 15%, $550 bucks plus tax for front pads and new rotors. $75 bucks each for the air filter (I assume engine air filter) and pollen filter (I assume cabin air filter). Can someone with experience let me know if these prices are 'correct' or more than usual? Thanks in advance.

500 or less should be the cost for 4 rotors and pads where else.
For 2 filters you can buy it online for MAX $30 for BOTH and DIY in 10 mins

Front and rear pads are about $50 each, so $100 total. I have a local GoodYear machine may rotors when they're off the car, which runs me ~$20x2. Air filter is $17. Cabin filter $28.
Cost of DIY <$200. If you want to replace rotors also, (why would you at 20K miles???), then the cost is $85 for the front rotors and $100 for the rear.
Total cost of parts for all of the above is $330, plus shipping. I used DiscountToyotaParts as a reference point. You can also hit up Sewell with CL discount.

I feel like a mug, i told them to go ahead with the air filter ($59) and the pollen filter ($76), had a nice loan car (ct200h) so that made me feel a little bit better.

I passed on the front brake pads and rotors, the report said the front pads had 20% left and the rear had 30% left, so Im glad I told them not to do it. The cost for front brake pads and rotors was $580 and the cost for front pads only was $340.

I went from BMW to Audi to Lexus because apparently Japanese cars were cheap to maintain lol

Well, lesson learned albeit an expensive one. Lexus is cheaper in the long run because of the infrequency of repairs needed. I've only paid for routine maintenance in 14+ years. There are a few things you can do yourself like the filters. For the rest, maybe consider having your RX serviced at Toyota. Same parts but lower price. If it makes you feel better, I made the mistake of letting the dealer install the front end mask on my RX300. Ouch! I still go to the dealer for service because my SA is awesome and looks out for me. And yes, loaners are sweet

Yep, that will be a good lesson. I completely agree on the loaners and service, if I'm paying an arm and a leg, might as well get a full luxury treatment.
BTW, never go to a dealership and ask for xxx miles service. They all vary from dealer to dealer. Ask for specific items recommended in the owners manual. Get a quote upfront and watch for special deals if your dealer offers them. Last time I had winter tires mounted on my IS300, the dealer was giving away $50 gift cards just for showing up. That more than made up for the extra cost of having it done at the dealer.

I will take my car to a local Toyota dealer had have all the work done last time I had break work done it was less than $500 for the front and back pads and rotor machined. And that was with 60k miles on the car or 96560 km on the car. I always change the air filter my self order than from Sewell with CL discount. So at 22000 miles they wanted to change out the rotors and the pads? Think I would find some one else to work on my car .
