Default 2010 cpo rx350

New to forum...new owner of 2010 RX350 AWD CPO..first Lexus!

It has Premium Package, Towing Prep Kit (now I need a hitch!), Remote Start, Backup Camera, Ventilated Front Seats...
Black Sapphire with Light Grey Interior..

37,500 miles, very clean, few normal stone chips...

Listed for $33,598, paid $30K, plus I traded in my old car and got about $2k more for it than ANY other dealer in the area (been looking for about 3 months so in no real hurry), so I was happy and thought it was a fair deal.

Bought at Lexus of Middleton, WI...the dealership also gave me the roof rack cross bars AND the rubber winter Lexus brand floor mats...still new in packaging.

VERY happy so far (had it for 3 days! LOL!)

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to Club Lexus. Remember, now you have to post pictures of your new ride.

Hey guys,

I had a 09 IS350 fully loaded until I got in an accident and the car was totaled. Im on the market now for a 2010 RX350 with similar options as my IS. I found a 2010 CPO locally with 59800 miles, premium/comfort package, navi, parking assist, 19" tires, premium 12 speakers sound system, Bi-xenon, ventilated seats etc. 1 owner
The initial advertised price was 29900, I negotiated it down to $27500. Although the little high mileage, I still believe the price is pretty good for a CPO.
The bad:
I also noticed the gaps on the front bumper (didn't know this is a recall)
bad scratches on the rear door handle, not sure if plastic can be buffed out?
Looks like the door sill scuff plates have been reconditioned sprayed with paint of some sort.
Front seats leather on the sides looked little worn and reconditioned, I suppose painted/masked. This tho is something common I've seen for all.
All seat belts were stained and dirty.
Front dashboard speaker grill was loose and sort of bent, wasn't going back on place on one corner.

Although the car has been detailed and reconditioned I could see that it has not been taken care of at its best from the previous owner.

What is your opinion on that deal guys?

P.S. The car has beige leather, I prefer black. How hard is to maintain beige leather compared to black?

Walk. While I understand you probably need a vehicle soon there are plenty out there to choose from and personally think you can do a lot better in the way of mileage and condition of the vehicle with just a little more investment.

Agreed. Plenty of '10 RX 350's are coming off leases, and from what I saw, most are in generally good shape. To sacrifice that much on the condition, and not even get your preferred color combination, doesn't sound like a "go" to me.

I would check other dealers in your area, or wait for more vehicles to go up for sale. Bound to be better options out there. Good luck.

As others have said, you should pass based on your description. There are plenty of 30 and 40 mile RXs out there.

I looked at literally dozens of used CPO 2010s and some were in near mint condition, others showed use even beyond the ODO reading.

There's plenty of clean ones out there, just depends on the mileage/options/color combos available.

I wanted a black interior for my '10 RX as I have an '97 LS400 with beige leather and while it's held up well over time, it wasn't used a family car for me nor the previous 2 owners. Beige is definitely a nice neutral color, and not as hot as black, when parked in the sun, but beige seats will show wear faster (some blue jeans can even rub off dye on them) and beige carpet is naturally going to be harder to keep clean.

If you do end up with beige interior, consider dark brown or black floor mats, they'll stay much cleaner 'looking'.

I ended up buying a non CPO and $1500 more expensive, but what I exactly wanted. Super clean, 2010 black on black, loaded with 32000 miles.

Glad to hear things worked out for the best. As I mentioned, there are plenty out there. You just need to be patient and not afraid to walk away if things are not quite to your liking.

dmpus, do you mind sharing how much you paid before tax? Thanks.

It was listed at 28990 online price, I negotiated it down to 28700 before tax and fees. Dealership fee $699 (which is the same everywhere else locally) and some change on my tag transfer. They just had the car in I think as a trade in, it didn't have pictures on autotrader yet and the price was the best within 300+mls radius. Absolutely clean record, not a fleet nor rental, one owner, no accidents, driven only in FL. Bumpers, hood and paint in general were in mint condition (never been repainted)..

The CPO I was considering was in much worse condition. I could see the scuff door plates being repainted, leather repainted etc.
Another advice, if you are buying a CPO always ask for the dealer service/repair full report. They cannot hide it. In order to be a CPO the car must be under 60k miles (I think) and no accidents on the report, however it can have dents repairs, up to 2 or 3 panels repainted etc. The CPO I looked at had both bumpers repainted and a dent fix.

The CPO one was listed at 29900 and the manager priced it down to 27500 which was a huge price down IMO..

In FL, my recent looking at RX350's finds that 2010 CPO's can be had for $30k or may be even less. But it is Summer and of the wealthy who buy Lexus down here are up North escaping FL heat till late Fall, so the deals are pretty good. Find one in Sarasota or somewhere like that, fly down by yourself and buy the car, pick up the wife & kids at the Orlando or Tampa/St Pete or Sanford (Allegiant Air is cheap) airport, take them to Disney/Universal etc., then drive it home. Probably pays for your family's vacation trip or more.
