'13 RX Door Rattle When Closing
When my wife road tested the RX last week, I noticed that the front doors rattled when closed. The sound was coming from the lower rocker moldings and could only be heard from the outside. You can see that panel move when the door was shut. The rear doors did not make the same noise and close with a definitive "thunk".
I will have to try another one to be sure it is not a common problem. Has anyone else noticed this on theirs?

hope there is a common answer and correction, my passenger door has (or near it) has developed a rattle while driving on bumpy roads in town. makes no noise on the highway and i cant isolate it from the drivers side.

I probably should clarify my original post. The noise from the door when the car is stopped and you close the front door (either driver's or passenger's). I did not hear any noise when the vehicle was moving.

That is just the way those doors are. Large expanse of sheet metal with no crease in it to add support. I lined the backside of my doors with sound deadening material and that seemed to help. Door guard strips may help that situation too.

My 2010 RX front doors do this sort of rattle or slamming, but the back doors have the thunk sound. I immediately recognized this after purchasing this vehicle over two years ago, as I had previously driven an '07 RX that all four doors had the thunk sound. I wasn't too thrilled about it, but understood it was the way the doors are made on the third gen RX.
