Frozen Liftgate?
Lexus Experts, Happy New Year,
I need your help:
I just moved to NE Ohio from Los Angeles. My 2010 RX 350 AWD is driving well in the snow.
I do not yet have a garage so I have to park outside.
This morning I went out and started it up, intending to brush off the inch or so of snow from the windows while the car warmed up. Unfortunately, the liftgate would not open. Temp. was approx. 30 degrees. Neither the cabin button, key fob or even trying to open it manually would work.
Any ideas on what is wrong and how to resove?

No, I don't play soccer!
Happy New year to you too. Check the glove compartment to make sure the button to the left wasn't pushed to disable the tailgate. Also clear out any ice and snow in the crevice between the roof and top of the tailgate before trying to open it.

If it is frozen by ice, it is best to leave it alone. Take it to a warmer garage to thaw. When you got it to open, clean the edges and dry it very well. I would spray the lift mechanism with some low temp lubricant.
