Looking for others experiences in ordering an RX450h. From what I've seen on here many have successfully ordered their vehicle. Certain dealerships in my area (Midwest) seem reluctant to accommodate that request. The main stumbling block for me just getting one that is in stock is the Levinson stereo. From what I see the only way to get it is to special order. For those that have gone down that road- did you get exactly the vehicle you ordered and how long did it take from the time the order was placed until you took delivery. Thanks for the help!!

Welcome to CL Plumlaker. A few of us have special ordered our 450hs to get exactly what we wanted. For me it took four months from the time my sales guy wrote it up to delivery - three months before my RX was built and then another month on the boat from Japan. That was not too long after the 450h came out. It might not take as long now. One thing you might want to consider is expanding your search area. There may be a dealer with an ML equipped RX on the lot or coming in. But if you do wind up special ordering, make sure you pick out all the features you want to make it worth the wait. Good luck.

I special-ordered my 2013 RX 450h and am very happy that I did. I have exactly the vehicle I want - model, options, color, etc. I put in my order on 21 May and it arrived at my dealer on 11 September. My local dealer (Lindsay Lexus in Alexandria VA) had absolutely no issue placing a special order for me.

Besides the expected superior quality, fit and finish of everything; it gives me great satisfaction to know that I have exactly what I wanted and did not have to compromise in any way. Waiting 3-1/2 months for a car I expect to own for 5+ years is worth it to me.
