Default 6000 Lbs Tax deduction, is it available on the 350RXH

The spec show the RX350H to be 26 lbs short of the 6000 GVW that is required for the tax credit. Does anyone know if this is close enough to work getting this deduction?

No. Only the GX and LX qualify for Section 179.

Hmmm...considering I am at least 26 lbs. over an "ideal weight," I should automatically qualify!

Check again, I don't think it's near that heavy. My (h) is a shade under 5k, and it's heavier than the 350.

Curb Weight and Gross Vehicle Weight are two different values.

While the 2013 RX350 has a Curb Weight of approx. 4178 lbs, the same vehicle shows a Gross Vehicle Weight of 5560 lbs. The difference between the two values is the Maximum Payload for the vehicle.

Curb Weight + Maximum Payload = Gross Vehicle Weight

The Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) for the 2013 RX450h is 5765 lbs.

I looked at the RX 450H AWD and it's GVW is at 5980. Is that not close enough?

It needs to be on the Section 179 list of approved vehicles and not just by the specs on a web page. The original tax code allowed you to buy vehicles such as a Hummer and write it off. After the abuses turned up they tightened up the tax code. Check with your accountant.
