Rx seat cracking
I noticed my 2010 RX with only 24K mi. is beginning to have cracks on the bottom left side of the drivers seat. The passenger side has them too, but not as bad. Do not see any sign of it on the back or lumbar part of the seat. Any one else? Could this be challenged as warranty? A Lexus shouldn't have this already.

It sounds like the cracking you're talking about is on the side bolster of the seats. This is very common. It's from getting in and out of the seat for 3 years. The mileage isn't really a factor. If this is what it is, the warranty typically won't cover it. (Although some dealers may be willing to help out some) Do you regularly condition the leather seating surfaces? This will help, but you can't completely avoid this. If you could post a picture of the seat area in question, it would be easier to determine if this is normal wear and tear or something else.

I think there is a difference between creases and cracks. My 2010 had cracks and leather was replaced by Lexus. Although I did carry in the bottles of Lexus branded cleaner and conditioner I had been using when I went in to discuss the cracking.

Creases may be considered normal wear and tear, but cracks may be covered under warranty as it may be due to substandard material?

I will agree with you about the creases but not the cracking. My wife has a ES300 with regency leather that shows very little wear even after 10 years with the last several years as a daily commuter/carpool vehicle.

On my 2000 RX 300 I had actually creases that eventually turn to cracking on both front seats before trading it in @ 90,000 miles .
Now my sister also as a 2000 RX 300 and she still owns it at 189,000 miles, and has a very large hole on the drives left side of the lower seat were the chunk of leather fell out.
She uses leather treatment religiously on all her interior.
I would like to see other luxury brands SUV's out there that are 10- 12 years old with leather seats and see how they hold up before accusing Lexus of anything.
