Default HomeLink Problem

I have setup two of the HomeLink buttons up to open my Genie garage door openers, they all work fine. I have tried to setup the other button to open my residence gate and have had little luck. After programming it seems to work the first time but rarely afterwards. I keep trying to program it and sometimes it won't open even the first time. So I just keep trying to program it every morning and can never get consistent behavior. I was able to setup my old LS to open that gate without a problem. And I just programmed my wife's Benz to open it without a problem.

Anyone ever had a similar problem? The gate is not a 'rolling' code type.

I recall reading in the manual that there's something a little different about gates in general. Check the manual. I want to say you had to press the transmitter twice during the programming cycle. I tried programming my daughter's Infiniti Homelink for her apartment gate and couldn't get it to work. I think the book says to contact the gate manufacturer for instructions.

I have a new 2013 GX 460 and have the same exact problem. Garage doors work perfectly but the residence gate does not. The gate is not new and my previous vehicles and my wife's vehicle work well with Homelink and wihtout the rolling code additional steps for the gate. The rolling code steps have been needed for all vehicles for our garage doors.

Have reset the Homelink buttons several times with the garage doors always working perfectly and the residence gate not

Were you ever able to get the residence gate to work with Homelink?

Also in AZ in the Tucson area.

Still no luck getting consistent performance. It will work perhaps one time in ten. I still keep trying to reprogram it though I am slowly resigning myself to the realization that I'll have to use the remote rather than the in-car HomeLink. Disappointing!

sfcaffrey: let me know if you ever find a solution, I'll do the same.
