Default 2013 rx 350 fwd - mpg

We have had our 2013 RX for about 2 weeks and now has around 800 miles. I'm averaging about 21.5 MPG and probably has been half highway and half city. Is there any "break-in" period for the engine? Can anyone else share their 2013 RX 350 FWD MPG stats? Thanks,

Samir

Samir, I read in several posts about a break-in period being several thousand miles. I don't recall whether that was for the 350 or the 450h. My 2013 Rx450h AWD is now at ~ 4500 miles and I can tell you that below 1000 miles I was disappointed with my low mpg - around 24 or 25. It got progressively better with each tank of gas. I'm now averaging ~ 30mpg, signigficalty better then it was a couple months ago. Be patient and enjoy your new ride!

Many have said 5,000 miles to break in the 350; I am at 3,000 on my '13 and it is getting better; so much depends on temps, running a/c, and speed you drive. I am going to Vegas in 3 weeks and will get a real test on loong freeway miles!!

Am I missing something? Isn't that what the combined mpg on a RX350 is supposed to be.

you're within range.
even after 5,000 miles you will still get the same. ( half city, half highway).

I know I don't have a 2013 but I have almost 35,000 miles and drive 70% highway and 30% city and average anywhere between 24.7 - 25.5 and no I don't drive like a grandma.

Recently got a 2013 RX350 FWD and my current average MPG is 14.5 (100% city) over 220 miles !!
Is it normal or there is something wrong ?

Give yourself a few tanks of gas to evaluate mileage. City driving conditions and short trips can really lower mileage. There is a long mileage thread you can read. But, people are reporting anywhere from 12.x to 16 MPG for tougher city driving (most reporting have AWD). I think your mileage will likely improve. City driving can cover a broad range of conditions; so it is difficult to give you specific feedback.
