Is it true people lie awake at night while dreaming up wild reasons to worry about something that to my knowledge has never happened ???

Accidents will happen! If someone walks in between your car and the next, and turns just as your rear hatch is rising, they could get a nasty bruise if they collide with it. It's all about timing, which is something we don't always have control of. Prudence dictates that we should have our car in clear sight before we activate it, and be mindful ourselves in case we get into a similar unfortunate situation. Accidents will happen!

I've hit my sister with the door when she wasn't looking and had her back to the tailgate.
