Default Cooling On the bottom of the seat

The back of my seat is nice and cool but the bottom of the seat that I sit on doesnt seem to feel cool
Is that how it is or is there something wrong with my seat?

Default Cool ***

I can feel the air coming through the holes in the bottom of the seat when I turn it up to three. I don't think I have ever felt anything coming out the back. The whole cooled seat thing is misleading. You notice they say ventilated seats and not cooled seats. It's just a fan under the seat blowing air up through the holes and yea it gets cool 15 minutes later when the whole car cools down. it is nothing like the heated seats that start warming your butt within a minute of turning them on. Can someone tell me their opinion of the heated steering wheel? Does it heat up quick? Is it worth the extra $

I agree that these seats are not really "cooled", but perhaps are ventilated -- at least there are holes in the leather to facilitate some sort of air movement. Others have also complained that the "cooling" isn't very robust in the seats. I would have to agree. Heating is great (and was in my RX400h), but even at the "max warp" setting, it's hard for me to tell that cooling or ventilation is operational on my rear end or back. It's one of my very few disappointments with my 2013.

Feels the same on my 2010. It just pulls a light volume of floor air through the seats. However even though it seems light, I turned mine off for a while the other day and it wasn't long before I turned them back on , maybe that's the way we should test them. Take something away and you want it back !!!

Make sure you have your A/C setting on bi-level so some cold air is blown under the seat. There is a thread around here somewhere where the group of us devised a scoop to install under the seat. I made a modification to it this year and it's amazing the difference. The air coming through the seat is actually cold.

MEP, thanks for the reminder -- I remember the thread now. Will have to look into a little DIY project!

The scoop works better than the mat flap. All you need is a piece of cardboard and some tape. I slide the cardboard under the vent and slightly angle a flap upward, make sure it clears the travel of the seat bottom. I use tape to hold it in a proper angle and fill in the sides so additional air is blown upward. No one can see it or hit it with their feet. I remove it in the winter.

I made the flap out of metal like in the pictures and slipped it under the vent so it was directed toward the seat ventilation fan. Set the AC to bilevel cooling and what a difference! I had to turn it down because my butt was getting to cold! I could actually feel cold air coming from the seat perforations.
