Anyone tried to install head up display?
I saw one thread said someone who want to try head up display unit to be installed in basic version of rx350. How about result? Any update? Thank you.

I don't think it require new dash.
That has one pre-cut space in the front of dash was ready for head up display unit. All buttons and control unit have been pre-wired.

just go to lexus, they'll install it for you, no need to change windshield or anything on the dash, everything is already predone for you. Still gonnna cost an arm and a leg though

Even you want to pay an arm and a leg, they don't do that.

My easy and probably most logical answer for the OP is, if you want a HUD, you should sell or trade in your present vehicle and get a 2013 with the option. IMO it is far "too integrated" into the vehicle to ever make financial sense to try and add it successfully after-the-fact -- even if it can be done and you're willing to pay for "days worth of labor"* plus parts.
* ...and I say that, as I had to have my RX400h dash removed under extended warranty to replace a faulty filter (the infamous "white dust problem"). It was a multi-day process, requiring more than one guy to accomplish over that time just to pull it out and put it back without damaging any of the interior.
