Cam gear issues?
I just read this post on the Edmunds RX350 site:
I recently took my '07 RX 350 in for service. I complained (again) about the severe engine noise on start-up. Long story short, I'm going to be out $3,000 for cam gear replacement! Lexus says this is a deal as they are paying for 50% of the parts. I believe that this is a quality issue and they should pay for much more. Does anyone know how to escalate this issue? Have others had this cam gear issue?
Has anyone here heard about this issue with the 3.5L engines in our cars? The original poster didn't mention his mileage or whether or not he was the original owner. However it does concern me somewhat since I hope to keep my car ('11 RX) least six or seven years or 100K miles.
