I did check that thread before posting..Everyone is mentioning they paid 1K or 11% or 5K less MSRP or invoice amount. But nobody mentions about the actual figure...thanks for your reply. I will have to figure that out before noon today (have to meet to sign by 1pm)...thanks

Hello Mengans. I am in ohio too, and I had recently purchased an RX350. It is strange that they will install rear seats entertainment package.
We will need more information about the optional packages u have on, is it AWD or FWD.
Otherwise check out this site truecar.com to find where you are at on the chart, and know howmuch is a good deal

yes, It is RX350 AWD, 2013 with Premium pkg along with blind spot blinks. No Tow pkg OR no Navigation system. I have 2young kids so, we decided to have the Entrainment installed for extra 1700$ included in $47500 (with taxes). I did check TrueCar site & they have it for $41,248+tax...thatz why I am so worried. Since, they haven't installed the Entertainment pkg yet, if my price is a rip off I want to back off...thanks..where did u buy? Mine is from Performance Lexus at Mason...thanks

Mengans You have a good deal, and it isnt that bad. True car lowest price for mine was about 42,248 same as your. But that deal would have to be in NewJersey. Now plus 1000 rebate would be 41,248.
But It would be 7 hours drive and a lot more. Therefore I decided to get mine Locally here 42248 With Rebate then Plus Tax and everything. That was a good deal too, for 1000 more but I don't need to drive and so on.
I would say your is a good deal. If you want to Haggle with him a bit more, you can get 500-1000 more off (I believe that he will not go that low, cause he would not make money). But if not, I believe that price of your s a good deal.

I paid 42248 Plus Tax and Title, which came about 45,725 or so. You have 1700 more on the rear seat entertainment package, that would be about the same deal as me. If I am not mistaken, you are paying 47500 included tax and title which is Out The Door price. That is a good deal. I paid 7-8% off MSRP. I dont know howmuch tax you have to pay, but I paid 6.25% here
Anything around 8% off MSRP = good deal. Some people do have 10% off MSRP, but that is pushing it, whether you have to Drive so far away for the color and package combination you want, and looking for a dealer which is willing to deal, or you will have to compromise. Or you would have to wait until the end of the month, or December deal

Buyer beware. Unless you haven't signed a contract or not taken possession of the RX, or your state has a 3 day grace period you are probably "stuck" with it. Go to KBB, Edmonds, True Car etc, print them all out, but don't show them to your dealer. This takes the power out of their hands on their own turf and puts a bit of clout back in your hands. I hate buying new or used cars, its such a degrading experience, but my strategy, preparation, preparation, can help get you a better deal. There will always be someone who paid less-but sometimes they don't always remember what they really paid.
My strategy;
a/Go in with all your True Car, KBB bits of paper etc, but don't show them.
b/ Tell them you have 15minutes to conclude the deal (I'm not counting title, all the BS paper work etc).
c/Price must be out the door, no hidden extras and in writing.
d/ Make the deal as clean as possible-cash buyer, if you are financing, do that before at a bank, credit union.
e/No trade is probably the best, but you do save the sales tax in most states with a trade.
f/Never be pushed into buying today for the special one off deal, tomorrow it will be there.
g/If its a new car, go to more than one dealer, get them to print up there offer, or put it in writing-I'll happily show a competitors bid to save myself a few $1000.00.
h/Finally if you can buy at the end of the month, you'll typically get a better deal. Salesman trying to make his quota, save his job. Dealership trying to win some contest. With basic research on the web you can often find special dealer incentives offered by the car manufacturer-called hold backs I think. This is extra profit for the dealer that is typically not passed no to the customer.
As an alternative, there are numerous car buying services around the country, I used one in WA state 4-5 years ago. For a set fee, think mine was $250.00, they will find the car and get a firm price-if you buy the car you'll pay the fee obviously. If you don't buy the car and decide to go on your own, you don't pay.
Car Stealers love impulse buyers, they offer the highest profit-they hate well prepped customers, with a ton of internet research.
Good Luck

I think people get too hung up on getting the "best" deal. The best deal is getting the car YOU want. I would rather get an OK deal on a car that I love rather than the "best" deal on a car I thought was just OK or worse.
BTW, congrats on the new car....

All this information about bargaining with competitive dealers in cosmopolitan areas is interesting but what do you do when you are a buyer in Montana and the closest dealers are in WA. 200 to 500 miles away?
Anyone with experience/information/good results when bargaining with distant lexus dealers in the NW specifically in WA?
